ARis // Absolute Reality of the Indefinite Sense is a NYC based multimedia dance group. ARis’ performing style is a mixture of dance, music and media arts (projection mapping and original electronic devices designed to synchronize with the dancer’s movement). Each piece is based on the theme of finding answers to life’s questions through a struggle with the inner psychological world.
 
ARis’ story focuses on how we can realize the free will that we tend to lose during the process of growing into maturity. Everybody has unique potential, however in most cases we are encouraged to suppress our uniqueness to the bland social condition. Our instinct then is to survive, even though we sacrifice our life to live. This position of a philosophical zombie obscures our calling as humans. As ARis’s artistic mission, we hope our multimedia piece can be a proposition to look back to where we left our free will.

A life was produced again as a part of social custom. Most of their life shall be spent solely for preserving current social functions. The social system permits focusing upon not to live, rather “to not die”. This concept provokes a strong, primal fear, making people blind to what they live for. However, they all see the inevitability of the end of life someday, and realize what they were truly chasing for in our life. Each spark of life energy has its own color, uniqueness and beauty, which once we had.
